Primordial Secures First Responder Contract

Primordial announced today that it secured a San Diego State University Research Foundation (SDSUF) Center of Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT) contract to develop a first responder application based on the company’s flagship Ground Guidance® off-road route planning software.  The contract resulted from a national solicitation issued by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) Domestic Preparedness and Support Initiative (DPSI) with the goal of transitioning successful, Department of Defense (DOD)-funded technologies to first responder agencies that can use them to better secure the nation.

Under the contract, Primordial will upgrade Ground Guidance to support planning ingress and egress routes for downed aircraft, conducting cordon and search operations, and routing around hazardous chemical plumes.  Primordial will deliver a unified suite of applications that run on Android, Apple, and Windows platforms.  Program Manager of CCAT, Tom Sheffer stated, “Primordial’s Ground Guidance software will accelerate mission planning and mission execution for first responders.”

“Primordial has an opportunity to move into new territory with this CCAT contract to assist first responders,” stated Randy Milbert, president and founder of Primordial.  With the increasing availability of high-resolution satellite imagery and high-performance mobile devices, it is now feasible for police officers, firefighters, and search and rescue (SAR) personnel to have access to robust, easy-to-use, automated software tools for analyzing terrain and generating off-road routes.
